This Privacy Policy describes how xDistance (the “App”) handles user data.

1. No Collection of Personal Data

The App does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.

  • No user accounts are created

  • No analytics or tracking services are used

  • No data is sent to any servers

  • No third parties receive any information from the App

The developer has no technical ability to track, identify, or monitor users of the App.

2. Location Data

The App may request access to the device’s location in order to:

  • Measure distances

  • Record routes locally on the device

  • Display the user’s position on the map

Location data is processed entirely on the user’s device.
It is never transmitted, stored remotely, logged, or shared.

If background location access is enabled, it is used only to allow uninterrupted route recording while the app is minimized or the screen is locked.

3. Route Data and Files

Any routes or paths created in the App:

  • Exist only on the user’s device

  • Are saved only if the user explicitly chooses to save them

  • Can be exported only when the user initiates an export

Exported files are handled entirely by the operating system and shared by the user at their discretion.
The developer does not receive or store these files.

4. No Tracking or Profiling

The App:

  • Does not use cookies

  • Does not use advertising identifiers

  • Does not perform user profiling

  • Does not include analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting services

Users cannot be tracked, either inside or outside the App.

5. Data Security

Because no personal or usage data is collected or stored by the App, there is no centralized data repository that could be accessed, breached, or misused.

All data remains under the user’s control.

6. User Control

Users can:

  • Enable or disable location access at any time in device settings

  • Delete all locally stored routes by removing the App or deleting files

  • Choose whether or not to export any data

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
